From the [non-canonical book] Book of Jubilees comes the explanation that the Grigori, AKA the Watchers, are the sons of God as mentioned in Genesis 6. “Grigori are superior angels in 2nd and 5th Heaven (depending if they’re holy or unholy.) …resemble men…but are taller than giants, and eternally silent.” In the Book of Jubilees, “the Grigori were sent to instruct the children of men; they fell after they descended to earth and cohabitated with the daughters of men – for which act they were condemned…and became fallen angels. But not all the Watchers descended; those that remained are holy…[and] reside in the 5th Heaven. The evil…dwell either in the 3rd Heaven or in Hell.” “In Enoch 1, there is mention of 7 Watchers and here the story is that they fell because they failed to appear on time for certain tasks…” (Davidson.)
