Katan figures out the Rosiel leading the War is a Doll. He kills it and runs to Atziluth to protect the real Rosiel from Lucifer. Sandalphon opens a rip in space-time at the Gate and goes through; Katan runs right after him, just barely making it through.
Setsuna wanders off alone, drawn to a garden – Eden – where Alexiel was imprisoned. Rosiel meets him there and commands Lucifer to kill Setsuna which will release Alexiel’s soul into her own body. Since Rosiel has the Blood Crystal and they are in an angelic prison (no Alexiel powers) Setsuna can’t stop Lucifer. However, Kira – the real Kira, the little boy soul – was attached to Nanatsusaya and helps Setsuna. Since his body (Setsuna) is under Adam Kadamon’s time-magic, Lucifer’s strike only causes Alexiel’s soul to surface and control the body (it cannot be damaged because of the time-magic.) For Alexiel to use her powers with Setsuna she has to kill the prison’s power source – the roots of the Tree of Knowledge, whose fruit is her Mother, Adam Kadamon (remember, he’s like a hermaphrodite.) Rosiel decides to command the Tower Etenamenki rise up without Alexiel – and it works! Setsuna’s consciousness is back; he and Kurai end up in Etenamenki, separated from Uriel and Michael. Rosiel is bidden to come up a staircase in the Tower: “Have you remembered your true rank, Rosiel? It seems you still need your father’s punishment.”
Volume ends with the narration: “Atziluth…the Domain of God, known as Angel Sanctuary.”
